Dakune Chill was founded by Steve who has a passion for travelling and exploring.   Originally from Wales, he made New Zealand his home some 20 years ago.  Steve purchased the Lodge and Chalet in 2023 on a whim as a residential "do-up" project when the fate of the mountain was unknown and there was no snow.   Interest in the accommodation piqued in June 2023 when the slopes opened and Dakune Chill was born.

From the moment you walk in the door, you’ll feel the pressures of the outside world melt away.   Forget about your job, and the stress and settle in around the roaring fire, chill in the spa, socialise around the outside firepit, or simply put your feet up and relax and make your plans for your Ohakune adventure.  The Lodge is big enough to enjoy the freedom of being group social or finding a quiet corner to find yourself.  The large outside section is also a great spot during the summer to enjoy the birdsong with a cup of tea ...or a wine :).

I'm joking. Steve starts every morning with a green smoothie. Wait, no, ...I've just been told it's called a "Mojito" .
